I have been an agent for going on 7years, about 60K year. Friend told me about an oppty CAT Adjusting, earning 30K in 30days; Work 4ms a year and for 120K. Is this realistic $$ for a Rookie CAT Adjuster just getting started?

You can expect not to find this type of job. First, it's a made up job. I don't know if any adjuster that makes $1000/day. That means that they would need to bill $100/hour for 10 hours each and every day. Many CAT adjusters work 12 hours a day but they don't earn $100/hour.

These CAT adjusters _do_ get paid well but that is because they have years and years of experience doing what they are doing. The highest paid CAT adjusters work as independent adjusters and as such, need to be able to work alone and know everything about what they do. They also have expenses, such as property damage software and even lodging. If a CAT adjuster works for an insurance company then they have been employed for awhile at that company. They usually get paid around over-time wages for working CAT and have most of their expenses paid by their employers. However, they make far (far) less then you have been told. When they are not working CAT, they work in an office handling claims.

What you were told about are independent adjusters who either work for adjusting companies or have a track record with certain insurance companies. They make only work a few months out of the year. They also don't make the kind of money you were told about. That might be before expenses, at best, but at most I'd say around $4000/week. It's also 12-14 hour days 7 days a week of _solid_ work (no breaks) and, by the nature of the work, in not so nice conditions. Again, these are the people who have 7,10, 15 years experience handling these types of claims.

@Dasfuk, Nathan only got to keep $90,400 per year as his expenses were 20% of the $133,000.

two story steep assignment = 750/day. If your wife is your helper this =950/day. You do the math for a 6 month assignement. In my case I have been deployed for almost a year.

i am 23 and made 80k my first year, that is from only 6 months of work also. Staff adjusters down here in south florida can make bare minimum 60 k a year. If you are not making at least 60k a year, then your company most likely will let you go. Most Staff adjusters in south florida can make an average of 90k a year, if you are good.

The only problem for most people is that, these adjusting firms will not hire you if you do not have someone that has trained you prior to submitting a resume.

Hello,

I recenntly completed the Insurance Claim Adjuster training course, and was awarded a diploma. I've more than 25 yrs in construction, and 16+ in field inspections. WHAT are my chances of finding a job in this industry? How are adjusters paid? Do you have to purchase your own software(exactimate/Simsol.) Can someone tell me how the process works? Thanks.

Independent insurance adjusters can easily bill for over $1,000.00 per day. Even as a newbie. I have been adjusting for 2 years now and even with my first claims I was pulling in over $800.00 per day of work. Good independent adjusters can easily make over $100,000.00 per year (as long as you produce quality work, your company will keep deploying you). Can anybody tell me how much does a crop insurance adjuster make? My uncle was in the field and he made huge. But I wanted to know about today's market. What are the opportunities and with which companies?

Who are the companies who pay their CAT adjusters best? What is a typical commission rate per claim?
