Can you obtain a license to sell life and health insurance if you have a misdemeanor but no felonies in the past 10 years?

depends on the state but yes, most likely if the conviction did not have ANYTHING to do with theft or deceit

That would also be my guess. I can not imagine not giving somebody a chance if they have a fairly clean record unless it did have to do with fraud or deciept.

The insurance agent licensing application would include questions regarding past felonies and misdemeanors. It may exclude traffic violation citations & juvenile offenses. Hence, the nature of the misdeed would certainly affect your prospects of becoming agent.

When you would appear for the licensing exam the finger printing fees would include charges for back-ground check as well, hence, you mustn’t lie in the application since it’d certainly get declined. Stay honest, at least you may get a chance to plead your case.

I'd bet on traffic (drivers license) being run...juvenille...no way...don't think anybody can request that info...or even get it for that matter...those records are sealed...

I answered in reference to a felony conviction question as well...You may want to check with a local lawyer and see if their is any opportunity to get your conviction or charge expunged. Judges are more and more willing to help improve the records of someone who has stayed out of trouble for a number of years!

I have been convicted of a D Felony concerning 2 DUI's and 2 Driving under influence of prescription drugs. I have served my time and have been clean for 2 years. I have an opportunity to work in an insurnace office if I get my Insurance License. Do you think there is a chance that the Indiana Dept. of Insurance would grant me Insurance Liscenses with my past issues?

Maybe, maybe not. 4 DUI convictions is pretty serious, and 2 years "clean" may not be sufficient time to pass to show that you have "rehabilitated" your character. In California, this would most likely result in your license application being denied without a hearing, and you would not be able to reapply for any insurance license for a minimum of 5 years.

i have a m4 "attempted theft" charge in Ohio. I am taking the exam in a few days. will this be a waste??? I was 19 and i am 30 now. i have had NO other convictions that have anything to do with character or theft, dishonesty, ect. If it is a problem, if i expunge it or seel it will it still be a issuse with the state?
