Well Lori it has now been 10 WEEKS now and I got the my truck back yesterday. Unfortunately it will be going back monday am. When I picked it up it looked great but when i parked it next to 2 other avalanches something didnt look right. Seems they put the wrong bumper on it (aftermarket parts ). The streering is still not right and it drifts to the right. I thought it may be me since I havent drivent it in 10 weeks, so I had 2 other guys who own avalanches drive it and they said the same thing.
I did get the DV claim from my Insurance company to the tune of $1800 so now all that is left is the medical, pain and suffering, etc.

I agree with Lori, it may be a question of allingment only....hope everything will get adjusted in due course. However, its nice to hear back from you.

Turns out the tie rod was bent and there was air in the Power Steering lines. It still drifts to the right and I fear it will always do that from now till I sell it but 2 different allingment shops say it is dead on so maybe it is just me. They went through 5 bumpers before he ordered one from GM and go figure it was the correct one. Now on with the PI/Medical claim. Still waiting for a bill from the hospital then I can FINALY get this finished.

Didn't they do an alignment before you picked it up the first time?

There is no way on God's green earth this would've aligned with a bent tie rod...least no way I know of without cheating it...

hmmmmmm that's something you don't hear everyday...

It might be you, if it's it's just a minor drift could also be road crown, or the tire, if you are checking it on the same path you drive daily...

Hoping and praying you get this all done soon...please keep us updated...we'll help you celebrate when it's FINALLY all over...

I know how frustrating this whole thing can be. Seems like your doing a really good job of hanging in there. I am a bit surprised that they didn't see the bent tie rod end while in the shop. Don't they usually take vehicles for a test drive before giving them back. I may just be going on how my garage does things.
I know everytime one of my vehicles breakdown I am always sooo nervous that it isn't runnung right and until my hubby drives it for like a week without problems then I will venture out on my own. If you can't seem to get past it then maybe you can trade it. Good Luck.
