How much are you gonna pay for it? Definitely you don't want to pay more a car of much low value. Therefore, check the book value of the vehicle before buying. It would also help you in negotiating with the salesman

Next, you should check the car's history on 'Carfax', its the most trusted site for used car information.

3rd, get a mechanic inspect your car for hidden accident and hail damages. At times these damages are not visible to the naked eye, but a professional can definitely tell you more.

What you're saying is this vehicle was a prior total loss..so now it will carry a branded title..there are alot of good cars out there that were prior total losses, but simon is correct that these vehicles are not worth as much as one that was not prior salvage..IMO you should be paying atleast 25% less..

hmm. how much are you paying for the car? this is an important factor. is it possible to salvage the car? how much would the repairs cost you? also, i agree with simon that you should get a professional to evaluate the car and check for hidden damages.

remember, never pay more than the value+repair cost of the car.

Seven, the car is repaired already, and being sold as a repaired albeit salvage (prior total?) vehicle.

Yes, if it once got rear-ended and totaled then you'd need to get it checked thoroughly before you'd accept it. After all it's the question of your life and safety. I guess the accident didn't happen with this guy. Once you'd go through the history of the car, may be you'd come across one good reason why this guy is selling it now!
