i had someone move into my home to help take care of my dying wife. that person got into an accident in their own vehicle on their own insurance policy. Can they cancelle my insurance even though this person was not on my policy and was not driving my car, but living in my home?

no they cannot...thought you said in your other thread they already did? Call your agent and ask EXACTLY why your policy was cancelled...because this isn't the reason...as T said how would they know this person is living with you? ARe they driving your vehicle by the way?

yes they already cancelled the insurance. they told me that this was the reason they cancelled it. I have no idea how they knew. other than this person was receiving mail at my address. They are no longer living with me. No they never drove my vehicle.

Annie, who told you this? You should've got a letter with the reason for the cancellation fully explained if you still have this letter, post EXACTLY what it says....this just doesn't add up...did this person file a claim under your policy as well? (as excess maybe?) although I can't figure out why they would've....when they had the accident was she on an errand for you?

I thought they couldn't ase your policy if your vehicle wasn't involved. Sure hope this one gets figured out. Good luck Annie.

They can't cancel your insurance for this you need to make sure that your insurance agent gets this reinstated.

doubt it what we need to know is the REAL reason it was canceled..

Also OP, keep in mind that cancelling a policy is different then non-renewing it.

You should receive something in the mail telling you exactly why they are canceling your insurance. I would love for you to type, word for word, what their reason is.

Is that a request life? What reasons would a insurance company have for not renewing a policy? If you have a good record and no accidents that were your fault could they not renew you?
