tusharagg87, you don't need to spend money on an attorney to know that owners of vehicles can be pulled into liablity issues, same as the driver (in the US that is)..In all states I'm aware of the owner(s) can and many times are held responsible right along side of the misdeeds of the driver..

But Lori do you feel its justified to fetch it from the owner even when the driver-in-question is well-off?

Yep, I do think the owner is equally copable if the allowed an uninsured vehicle that they own to be driven, or actually when you as an owner allow someone to drive your vehicle you are assuming the liability and responsiblity for what that vehicle does..
