First you need a copy of the CCC evaluation, when you get it go over it VERY VERY carefully, check the year, make, model, mileage, ALL options....make sure they are all on there...check the condition that they marked it..(probably average)...then check the 'comps' call the comps and see if they are indeed the same as your vehicle....call some good used car lots, or better yet go by with pictures of your vehicle ask if they will write up something saying what they would be asking for your vehicle as it was equiped if it were for sale on their lot....when you call on the comps be sure you ask about all the equipment and if it had any prior damage, like hail, bumper scrapes, interior damge, lights cracked etc...let us know if the CCC evaluation is correct or if you find some errors....what company is it you are insured with Chanel? _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. Wow, great article, Mike! Thanks for the link.
My car was totaled a couple of years ago and I had to fight with an insurance company that was using a CCC valuation report. I ended up having to sue the insurance company's insured in small claims court in order to get a fair amount for my vehicle.
The best advice I can offer to anyone is this: get a written copy of that valuation report. That will be your starting point! _________________ I am not a doctor or a lawyer, and I do not work in the business of insurance. Take my advice at your own risk! |

I agree with dave, written documents are always handy as proofs. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| Do you have documents supporting you repair, rebuild and rework claims? If you do, you can submit them to the insurance company and they'll boost the total value. |
