Hi guys, I'm a student from West Virginia and I'm looking for the initial steps

that would strengthen an accident insurance claim.

I'd just like to know the process that one should follow prior to an accident

settlement negotiation with the adjuster. ScarletteJ

Are you preparing to claim with your insurer or going to claim against the at-fault driver's insurance company? However, in both cases you are required to inform the insurance company at the earliest available opportunity.

After the accident both the parties involved in it are required to share their insurance information. Hope you have done the same. Also, its important to take pictures of the damaged cars. It'd help in determining the worth of the claim.

Hi, before you file the claim with the insurer its important to determine whether the claim is worth submitting or not. Every claim that you’d file with your insurer would go into the claim report. If the worth of the claim is less or just above the deductible level, you may wish to settle it by paying out-of-pocket.

Also remember, that property damage and bodily injury claim would be pursued separately. Hence, you may need to do separate evaluation for each.

Hope this helps.

Hi, your adjuster would probably ask for the following-

* Copies of the medicals bills along with your medical report
* Proof of all associated expenses
* Employer-backed documents regarding your time lapse at work

It's also natural for an adjuster to get your authorization in order to get access to your medical treatment records. Remember, that these are the documents that would boost your claim regarding the special damages.
