Is your privacy invaded by an employer requesting your insurance coverage? (not proof of)

Well, I'm not sure about the question. Why the employer would ask about your insurance coverage? Definitely it's not a condition for employment with the firm.

However, as far I can gather that the employer may ask for the proof of coverage in order to allow the employees to use the company's vehicle regularly. It may wish to ensure that the employee is responsible enough to maintain at least the state minimum coverage. In some instances, you policy may play the role of secondary coverage once the company policy gets exhausted.

Rodriguez, you need to confirm the intention of the employer behind it. I haven't heard of employers asking for the policies from the employees. However, if the employer guarantees not to disclose the information to any third party, then you might not have a reason to worry.

I work for an agency, that helps the Elderly (love my job!!). However....the 'main office' is right here in the area, in which I live. However........I drive to different homes, to take care of the Elderly. In THIS case, my Employer has to know for sure, that the Employees DO have car Insurance. If we don't, we can be put on 'Inactive Status' until we do.

I got a job where there is traveling between work places. During the interview and for the past 6 week the company promise me a company vehicle. Each week I noted on my weekly needs report to the company General Mananger that I still dont have the company vehicle and that this condition is palcing alot of milage on my personal vehicle. I have quit since in six weeks I have not received a business vehicle, or been paid for the the gas placed in my vehicle for 6 weeks. I submitted the expense form for August 2009, and I had placed the expense form for July 2009 on August 6, 2009. I resigned August 9, 2009 and requested in writing that they send me a check for the gas, until this date they have not done so, I feel since I dont work there anymore they will give me problems. What can I do to correct this situation

What type of business is this? Did you get anything at all in writing re: company vehicle provided/expense account? What has their answer been regarding why they either haven't paid you for use of your personal vehicle or not provide co. vehicle?

My employee asked me to provide paper work on my car, and did I have business use, if you dont you need to obtain it. My car in 3rd party F.T no business use. I been told to sort it, but it will cost me more money, plus when I asked them why, you might need to work at our other office from timt to time, I workk P/T 26hrs, as far as I'm concerned how I get to my work place is my business how can they insist on me doing the above, I feel like parking my car around the corner and telling them I got the bus, next I feel I will be requested to use my car for their benefit, my car is personal to me not for general taxi use which is how it makes me feel. WHAT are my rights ? do I have any thing I could pass back to my employee its not in my contract.

"If" your vehicle is being used for business of any kind. Then they are within their right.

If you are driving to work parking your car, and not getting back in it until lunch, or when you go home. I cannot imagine why they would need to know anything..

What 'exactly' do you do?

Our company wants us to use our own vehicle if there are no company vehicles available. What are the laws in Indiana about using our own personal vehicles for company business

I don't think there's any problem if you wish to use your company logo on your personal car. Your company may gain out of it, as it adds more visibility to their business. Wherever you park your car or drive through you're helping it add more visibility.
