IMO you can have it insured in your name. In this case you have to obtain the non-owners policy which would only offer the liability coverage. Now, if the vehicle is used for commercial purpose, you may look into a commercial vehicle insurance policy, since personal auto insurance wouldn't cover if the vehicle get damaged while on commercial use.

angelica, the owner of the vehicle is going to have to be an additional insured minimally..also he will have to be a listed driver...is the problem that his rates are way higher than yours would be?

That's all it covers? I thought a Non-Owners policy covered more than this. Mmm......guess you learn something new everyday. I recently was asked by a neighbor if I could put Insurance in MY name, for HER. According to her, she does own a car ( I don't know if the car is ACTUALLY in her name, or not). She DID tell me, even if I DID buy the policy for her, that the policyI bought could cover Liability/Collision, etc. However.......of course it sends up a 'Red Flag' if ANYONE is asking me to merchase Insurance for THEM.
