If you are involved in a suit, I'm guessing that you are paying an attorney. Have you asked your attorney? If you have an attorney then you should not be speaking directly with the adjuster... but has the person that the adjuster told this to asked what it means?

My _guess_ is that once a suit was filed the insurance company assigned defense counsel. This means that the adjuster would probably not discuss the case with anyone any longer. Some carriers assign claims to their main (corporate) office once this is done as this is either where their staff attorney is located or the new handling adjuster.

Great answer above Tcope. OP i advise you to do your DD and hopefully you'll get this sorted out.

Best of luck to you.

Hi moni3331,

Would you care to share a bit more on the nature of this accident? Also, would like to know about why you didn't accept their offer. Did they communicate anymore regarding this within these 2 years?

Moni, are you dealing with your carrier or the other driver's? Why exactly have you sued the insurer?

I'm with T on this first of all you shouldn't be talking to ANYONE at the ins company and they won't/shouldn't talk to you if you're attorney rep'd...

If an actual suit has been filed, it's out of that adjusters hands and into corp legals hands...guess you can now set back and see if a jury of your peers think your injury is worth what your attorney thinks it's worth.
