Teenager DL

My parents are apprehensive about my achieving a driving license. They are rich but are not willing to bear this $60 a month for my insurance. They'd often argue that I don't need a DL since I won't be driving that much. Is there a way out?

If you are of legal driving age, you don't need a parent's permission to obtain a driver's license. And on top of that, $60 a month? Are you currently working? I am sure you can swing 60 bucks a month plus gas.

Time to cut the cord I guess.

If I were in your place, I'd sit with my parents and have a discussion regarding my driving needs or at least regarding things that might convince them of my needs. I understand their being frugal, but I'm also a bit skeptical in letting a teenager drive so often!

I've always believed in the simple truth - if you can drive, you may as well know how to earn and pay for it.

Quite true! The risks associated with a teenage driver are quite high.

He's 22 years old! Time to put on the big boy pants and start making decisions on his own. That expiration date is long over due.

Is that it,...$60.00 per month? WOW!! Yeah...I wouldn't think that would be a great problem!! Gosh!! Actually..that's pretty good, considering the age of the OP.
