Hi, are there any factors that you'd need to consider for restricting costs while buying insurance for your car? Are there any factors that might help the existing insurance consumers bring down their insurance costs? Red-ribbons

Yes, you may reduce your insurance costs by opting for higher deductibles. But you'd need to be sure that you'd be able to bear that extra deductible whenever you'd need to make a claim. It you're sharing the risks of your carrier at covering you, then the carrier would also share your costs...that's it!

You'd need to opt out of coverages that are of no good to you any more such as collision and comprehensive for cars that are no longer financed and have depreciated in worth. Make sure that you don't drop coverage for such cars which are quite in use and are of a good market value. If you commit a mistake over here...you might end up suffering heavier penalties under circumstances when your car gets destroyed by another one. Caromel_merquez

Why don't you avail discounts which are being offered by your insurance company!
I'm sure there are a number of causes for which your carrier would offer you discounts. You might get discounts for your car security devices, limited mileage, possessing more than one car, a good driving record etc. There are also some other factors that influence e.g. smoking habits, preferred driver etc.

You'd need to consider quite a few things like the worth of liability cover that you need, whether you'd need comprehensive coverage, the amount of deductibles that are good for you to choose etc. Crossbreed

Yes, but please don't forget to count upon your choice of multiple quotes, your source of coverage (be it through the internet or through any agent). Also don't forget to judge the quality of discounts that each provider offers you.
