Tina, you may need to elucidate your query. The information is really insufficient for us to comment. Like Roddick has said if you are looking to cover your car there are companies available who would write a policy for a day.
By the way, why don't you ask the renter to offer you coverage on the rented vehicle. Almost all the auto renters would provide coverage on their rented car.

I once had a friend seeking insurance just for a day or two...when her son had to use her old car (which was otherwise lying in the garage). It would be real good if you'd give us some clue as to why you're looking for such coverage!
