Alot of people do not think of teh consequences (sp) of getting behind the whell while intoxicated. I guess they think that getting into a wreck, pulled over or killing someone could never happen to them. We are all human and it only takes one wrong move to show us that we are. The stiff fines and penalties that are put into place are there for everyones good. There are even programs out there for the good of the drunk driver. Open door, AA, and even safe drivers classes.

I do know a FEW people that goes to AA. According to them, it was the "best move they made." Different churches, organizations, etc. usually have these meetings. I do hope that people go on their 'own accord'....I hope something, so tragic, doesn't have to happen for people to go. Hope ya see 'my point.'

Yes and there are many bad points to AA and open door that I have seen first hand too. Sometimes it just brings in more connectios for another person due to everyone being in one room. They say they do this so the recovring (or court ordered ) addicts have each other to lean on and lend support. Although this was a compassionate idea I am now so sure it was a wise one. It just expands the ones who don't really want to change knowledge of who and where to get illegal drugs.

I would think if someone had a chance to change their life, for the BETTER, they would take it. But..I know what you mean ( in a way..) FIREYONE. I know a few people who went to AA, and I REALLY thought the meetings were helping. Later, they ( two of them) conveyed to me, the ONLY reason why they are there is BECAUSE of a Court Order and the meetings din't do a "darn thing for them." They "weren't learning anything." That response, from them, kind of disappointed me. Now....they are back drinking and driving.

Its like a roller coaster with these types of people. I hate the ones who drive around uninsured and drink or do drugs...they don't only endanger themselves but other too. I say if your drinking leave the keys alone especially if you dont have insurance!

If your insurance carrier is notified of your DUI conviction, they may choose to cancel or not renew your policy. This is left to the discretion of your insurance carrier. If your policy is canceled, you may be offered a policy with your carrier's high risk coverage program, If you have been charged with a DUI you should seek legal help at once from DUI Lawyers
