I am deployed. Signed the title over for my family to sell. I never drove it cause had another car. So didnt keep insurance on it and cause I was trying to sell it. The car was stolen and in a wreck. The driver was never found. Officer threatened to issue a warrant for not having insurance on that car. Im deployed and cant have that. Whats the worst they can charge me with for no insurance. Any way to fight it regarding the circumstances?

Since the car was stolen and was wrecked, I suppose that you have filed a report of burglary with the local police station. And, hence, I suppose you don't have the liability for the damages done by the driver.
However, if you mention your state of residence, we may look into the state laws for more information.

Driving without insurance is certainly a felony in some states of America and depending upon your state laws you may receive tickets or may face a jail term for driving without coverage. Some states may even impound your vehicle if you're stopped without the proof of financial responsibility.
However, the fact that the car was stolen when it was wrecked do add a twist in the situation and also since you were not driving the vehicle when it met its fate. I'd wait for the experts to drop into this thread. Just hang tight mate, the help is on its way.

I'm sorry Tman this is bs with a captial B....if that car was setting and not being driven you don't have to have ins on it...well maybe in your state if it was licensed...but here's the thing IF you had more insurance on that car than any other car in America...there still would be no coverage! Ins. companys do not cover the damage caused by a car theif..period...end of story...and besides that if you signed the title over to your family it's not your car legally and is their responsibility! Is there any indication that someone in your family drove that car? How was it stolen? with a key? or column busted?

Lori hit it dead on.
If you signed the title over, you do not own the car. Your parents own the car. Your parents will be "issued a warrant" for not having insurance.
It is not your car.
End of story.
