If your vehicle is repairable then yes, you will have to take it back, UNLESS (and I doubt it) your carrier has already settled (paid) with you on the total loss...What condition is your vehicle in?

You reclaimed the car back Shocked why? I don't know of many people who would want a stolen car back. I guess the car was declared totaled by the insurer and you were paid the acv. Therefore, the recovered parts of the vehicle would also belong to the insurance company. IMO you shouldn't look into getting back the title on it rather must move along & get a new car.

Jose, not many insurers would agree upon transferring the title back. If you really want to retain a totaled vehicle you were required to inform the insurer before they take the possession. IMO its already too late. The state laws regarding salvaged cars also need to be looked into. Groundnut

Taking back a stoloen car is always risky. You never know how the vehicle was treated and what it went through before it was recovered. My sister in law had hers stolen and they found it a few weeks later. It looked okay, was just a little muddy. I believe they had to take theirs back but ended up trding it in because their once good runnung vehicle had all kinds of problems once it was recovered.
