| Opposing car runs red lite, hits my sister's car and flees the scene. I try to follow but lose them as they get on the highway. My sister's car is insured, but I do not have a license. What should I do? |

| Have your sister pick up her vehicle from you and give her all of the information about the accident. If she has collision coverage on her policy she can claim the damage to her vehicle under that. If she has uninsured motorist property damage (probably not), she can claim under that. But for UMPD, a police report may need to have been filed. I'm guessing you did not report this to the police as you were driving illegally. |

Hello Rlthomas49,
If your sister's car is insured she would be fine since her insurance company would cover the losses. But, they might deny to cover your medical costs if you are injured.
Anyway, have you got the license plate of the offender? Give this information to the cops and they may track the driver down. And, if he is insured, you can then file the claim against his policy as well. |

| (Just thinking outloud here,,)Almost sounds like a 'Catch 22' thing. The driver is NOT driving legally and the OTHER driver left the accident. I would think that something would happen to the un-licensed driver. However..he was the 'witness' to the accident. GOSH!! What do ya do in a case like this?! |
