What kind of insurance do I need for an office cleaning business? It is just me and my daughters right now, but am hoping to expand. I operate from home and intend to continue to do so. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

I wanted to take just a moment and elaborate on some of the answers that have been provided, just to give you a little more insight.
A general liability policy is designed to cover you against liability (i.e. lawsuits) that could arise because of a mistake made by you or one of your employees.
An employee dishonesty bond would provide coverage in the event one of your employee’s stole from your client (there are certain provisions that must be met for coverage to apply though).
You might also want to discuss with an insurance agent about coverage for you and your daughters if you are injured while working. _________________ Thanks,

A good full liabilityy policy would be enough for an office cleaning business. In case you broke smth or get injured.
Injury insurance may be an extra one as well. |

| Your state insurance department is the authority for providing you the insurance policy on a small business at home, it will cover all the employee as well as your equipments. |

No, they won't. The states are not in the business of providing coverage for business. Don't know where that came from. There are a few states that monopolize worker's comp- but that's about it. If you call the state, they'll simply tell you to contact an insurance agent.
So, contact an experienced commercial insurance agent.

General Liability insurance does not give any business "credibility" -- it merely protects others against the negligence of the business owner and/or their employee(s). _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent.
