I'd been a consultant, off late I've started working as a contractor independently. What are the types of insurance that I should look to get myself covered? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| One thing that comes to mind is 'Product liability'. You'd certainly need to get covered for claims arising out of it. |

Under circumstances that someone meets with an injury caused by a defective product, you might face a claim. Also remember, that Product liability and professional indemnity are separate coverage, but there's a close link between them. _________________ AmPmInsure Blog |

| I guess we're missing out on legal expenses insurance. It would help you with funds for legal costs associated with claims that may be filed against your name. |

Guess it really depends on what type of consultant you are, but here are some starting points (if an industry type fits):
businessinsurancenow.com/by-industry.aspx
techinsurance.com/blog/articles-by-it-profession/
More than likely though, you're looking at errors & omissions insurance and probably a BOP plan (business owner's policy w/ general liability, etc.) _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |
