Some of the health insurance policies cover the chiropractic expenses under their policies. Some states have mandated the group health policies sold in the state to offer a percentage towards the chiropractic therapies and cover certain number of chiropractic visits by the policy holder in a year. Hence, go through your policy document to check whether this coverage is available or not.

Another point, a HMO policy is likely to cover only the practitioner expenses, whereas a PPO plan may cover the chiropractic care as well, ie, the policy type will also play an important role in determining the coverage that you may receive.

I'd agree with Jeremy, many health insurance providers may offer the chiropractic coverage since it and many other alternative medications are becoming popular gradually. Contact a health insurance agent for details on this coverage. Also, you may check with your existing health coverage provider to know about their options.

You may also receive chiropractic coverage if your Primary Healthcare Physician recommends you for the chiropractic therapy.

Thanks,
Rupert

I've never heard of 'just' chiro insurance...nor do I know of any health provider that would not cover chiro visits (although I'm sure there are stipulations on number of visits etc.)

There are Lori. My wife thought she would try out a Chiro. By the time we figured out what insurance would pay it was about a fourth. Ins would pay for one visit a month - they want you to come every week.

And of course if you don't, they say it won't do any good.

So you are saying there are specifically only chiro policys?

My bad...I meant "There are stipulations to the number of visits."

It's Friday. Just a quarter way through the first cup of coffee when I made that post.

ok, that's better.... yes, I'm sure ALL health policys have stipulations with the chiro's plan/course of treatment...otherwise 'some' would have a patient in daily for 20 years.
