I was driving out of a parking lot last week and made a stop. when i was about to pull out, someone rear-ended me. Will my insurance rates go up even though it wasnt my fault?

Probably not. It shouldn't affect your no claims bonus as most insurers have a provision that no-fault claims should not penalise the insured.

Hi Julia

It is likely that your insurance premium will not go up if an accident is not your fault, unless you have made a lot of claims (including a claim for this). What I'm thinking here is that I hope you have the details of this other driver who rear-ended you. You need to pick up compensation from this other driver's insurance so that when you get an estimate of how much it will cost you to repair your own car, you can get the money from them. I say this because you said it is not your fault. Hope to hear more from you on this.

Since you were not at fault, the chance of your rates to increase are slim to none.
