You had $300,000 in damages repaired and _then_ filed the 2nd claim? Most people who have $300,000 in damages would probably call their carrier right then and there.
So you filed the claim and then left the country for 4 months. You just let your mail stack up?
I looked up Hurricane Dennis and it hit in 2005... 5 years ago. Is it correct that your posting this question 5 years after the damage occurred?
Your policy outlines your duties after a loss. Most do require that you give a sworn statement if requested. If they sent letters out 3 times and you never responded, they may then deny your claim. You can file a complaint with your states Dept of Ins and/or obtain the services of an attorney and file a bad faith claim but I'm betting anything short of a suit being filed and they will stick with their denial. |
