I've tried to get life insurance..can't because I have diabetes. What a nice thought..my children will be stuck unless I save the funds to pay for my death..and pay all the taxes and monthly expenses of living single,in a small town and only a GED. Had my car insurance carrier of almost 20 years cancel my policy because I got a "DUI". Wasn't a DUI..I also had a seizure disorder. When you have one coming on..you can feel it. Just want to get home, take your meds. I'm a very young 50 year old divorced female, and losing faith in the companies, government..maybe soon myself. No help for the little folks.

Probably the best thing to do is work for a company that provides a life policy. I'm pretty sure if its a large policy that the policy is guaranteed to be issued.

I know several people who have Diabetes and STILL have Life Insurance. However.....I DO admit, I don't know if their Life Insurance is through their employment or not.

Also,..OP...I wanted to comment on something you said. Your Auto Insurance "cancelled your policy..." You said you 'HAD a seizure disorder'. Do you still have it? I'm assuming you had the disorder while you still had your Auto Policy. Why would they cancell you NOW?

It's gonnabe difficult to find life insurance for a diabetic, and even if you come across one it would certainly be costlier. It could lead you through a long drawn underwriting process too. I guess with life insurance offered through your employer, the risk is distributed for the carrier and hence easier to achieve. Do check if I'm right!

Just reading between the line here....I may be incorrect.

OP was out and had a couple drinks. Knew she was going to have a seizure and left to go home to take meds. Got into an accident when she had a seizure. Cops smelled booze, thought DUI. OP told them she had a seizure and DUI was dropped. May have still stated on police report that she had alcohol on her breath.

Now I understand wanting to take meds for seizures, but I question getting into a car or not pulling over if already in her car if she is a lucky one that knows when she is going to have a seizure. This coming from soneone that deals with someone that has seizures (wife). She has fallen down the stairs, wrecked her car and fell numerous times. She has no warning, but if she did she would not get in a car.

LOSTINHOPE...I have a question: did you have Life Insurance, in the past? Concerning your seizures,...if your Auto Insurance company knew you had seizures before NOW, it doesn't make any sense to cancel your policy NOW (unless you had the same situation happen to you before).
