Hi Milfordct, so you mean that this backpacker policy is a kind of travel insurance. I understand the ski and sports protection, but I'd like to know more about the special additional services that you've mentioned over here.

HI,
Backpacker Insurance is for safety during the travel. You can search it online and can get much information about backpacker insurance. There are so many insurance company and having different policies with different rates. Even some backpacker insurance companies provide accommodation. |

I think if one is planning to travel for a longish duration then it is always better to have a comprehensive travel insurance that could cover your medical treatment at the destination and most importantly any unfortunate accident you may meet so ambulance costs and if you have to be taken to a distant place for the treatment then cost of flight need to be covered.

| I'm agree with goodyphilips that whenever you plan to go for a trip you should have an assurance to be safe during your travel time. If you are going with your family or friends then it's your responsibility to take care of them, so you must have an travel health insurance because you never know what might happened when you are travelling. |

Hi..
Travel insurance can cover you for a range of problems when traveling abroad, from the catastrophic to the merely inconvenient.
When you buy a holiday or a flight, you may well be offered travel insurance to go with it (or even find that it is automatically added unless you expressly ask for it to be removed and find alternative cover).
It's all too easy to say yes to this travel insurance, and add the cost to the bill, but you're probably better off shopping around and taking out a travel insurance policy independently.

It's certainly important to be properly insured when travelling, especially if you're making frequent trips abroad throughout the year. You may regard it as an added expense or a luxury but if you're ever in need of it, you're sure glad it is there.
