Contact your state health department and explain them what kind of coverage you are looking for. They may give you a list of companies from where you can obtain an idea of insurance quotes.
As a matter of fact a health plan with very low premiums might not be able to cover you so well as compared with your previous group health plan.
You may also consider on Medicaid, depending on your eligibility for it. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

Better to talk to a local agent who markets health insurance. Depending on your age, you should be able to get a basic HMO plan for $100/month or less. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197. You can extend coverages on the current plan and it will be good for you to look for the best deal online. If your current status does not provide you coverage according to need then buy a different policy. _________________ commercial insurance |

cleg02034,
There are hundreds of local health insurance broker websites that you can get quotes on individual health insurance. Just do a simple Google search for "health insurance (city where you live)" and check the first few listings.
If you live in CA you'll find that there are over 100 plans to choose from. Because there are so many choices, it will make sense to contact the broker that owns the website to get some specific plan recommendations. Make sure that you are dealing with a local broker, as they will know the details about the plans that are available where you live.
Good luck & good hunting! _________________ Find great health insurance info and fast online quotes at San Diego Health Insurance|Health Insurance San Diego |

Hey Cleg02034,
Depending on your location you may have access to a variety of plans - that's why it's important that you look for a local agent to see what your options are. Specifically, if you don't want the insurance provided by the temp agency you will be looking for individual health insurance, and although you could do a google search there are dedicated sites that will let you find and compare health insurance rates. Once you put in some general information in the online quote engine, you'll see what kind of plans and costs you will be looking at, hopefully better and more affordable then the one you currently have! _________________ Need Individual Health Insurance? | If you're married, you can try joining your spouse's insurance plan. Or you might check the low-cost health insurance plans offered by Medicaid. |

This is utter nonsense! Medicaid is not an insurance company and it does not "offer" low-cost health insurance "plans".
This person has no clue about what they are saying. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197.
