dental coverage exceeded

Dental coverage that I have, pays for 70% of the dentist's fees while i have to pay for the rest 30%. My yearly coverage limit is $1800. But I had a recent major dental problems and so the limit exceeded. Will my individual health plan cover the excess amount, or I pay it on my own?

Dental insurance pays for dental needs and medical insurance pays for medical needs.

The only time that your medical insurance coverage will pay for dental needs is if the dental treatment needs occur as a result of something OTHER than decay, etc. For instance, as a result of face-planting on the sidewalk and breaking teeth. But it WON'T pay for anything other than an accident that caused damage to the teeth.

Better to state this as your health insurance will not pay for dental expenses that are not medically necessary. It doesn't always mean the result of an accidental event. But accidental injuries are probably the most common cause of medically necessary dental expenses.

When you exceed the annual maximum on your dental coverage, the excess charges are your personal responsibility. Obamacare did nothing about the cost or benefits of dental care. Health insurance, on the other hand (and unless Congress makes some changes), now or by 1-1-2014 will, provide unlimited annual and lifetime coverage, courtesy of your health insurance company.

If you believed Obama when he said your health insurance premiums will go down in cost as a result of the implementation of his PPACA, there is a bridge I'd like to sell you in NY City.

Wow, I thought you were selling a BRIDGE and you now offer me a TUNNEL. Seems to me that's false advertising and somewhat of a bait and switch issue. I'm calling the Cali. DOI- seems to me that's a trade violation.

Don't get upset! The tunnel is cheaper. The "bridge" was kind of a "dental" joke.
