Medical insurance fraud?

I went to a doc few days back for my back hip and shoulder pain. The very first thing he told me was I had to make a second appointment for my shoulder. The problem was related to my back then why should I go back again? He could have taken x-rays of all since I was there for quite long but he didn’t. I think this doc is just trying to double my bills and make more money off me. What do you say?

If you went to a Chiropractor then chances are there that you need to go back to him over again and again. Is it fraud? Nope.

In fact, it can be fraud if he conveys wrong bills to the insurance company. Your doubt is right that he might be a rip off artist. Better consult someone else.

Did you see an MD? If so, why would you question his professional medical judgment over one visit and a request to be seen again? There doesn't appear to be any insurance fraud taking place at this point. If you are still in pain on your return visit, then maybe he'll order an x-ray or an MRI. Simply having pain is not a reason for having an x-ray taken. Pain from non-fracture or non-arthritic sources won't show up on an x-ray unless there is inflammation in the bone.
