| If you initially told your insurance company you were not the driver in a hit and run situation out of fear from getting in trouble but eventually fess up to being the driver, will they in normal circumstances cover the claims that would have been legally owed from the beginning, or have you voided out your claim? |

Definitely! You're trying to hide the most important fact as to whether you're the party at-fault or not! This would surely screw your future finance & may have adverse effects on your credit report in the long run. So, don't even think of trying it ever.

I doubt it, and it depends...how long of a time span do we have here? I've had this happen, and have NEVER caused anyone any problems if they came forth, rather than me having to 'beat it out of them'...

I think that honesty in this case would be better than them finding out later and then having your arrested for false reports, they could do this right, isn't this insurance fraud? I am sure that if they find out with out you telling them there will be some kind of consequences that will not be in your favor. So take a deep breath, relax and call them up, you will feel better once you get it off your chest anyway. You won't always be looking for the insurance police over your shoulder. |
