The wheel on my mercedes is coming off. All of a sudden I was driving today and my wheel was making noises. I stopped checked the problem, and there is two parts that hold it are loose and one is completely hanging. The car is not driveable. There is no previous known problems with the car. I have full coverage with deductible, if I take it to the shop, will my insurance cover it.

Thanks

Not unless you have had an accident or hit something that would have caused this, otherwise this is just routine maintenance. You insurance is not responsible for routine repairs. do you remember hitting anything, do you think your car was vandalized, did someone loosen up the parts intentionally.

If you think about it, the insurance is there for accidental purpose, they would not fix it unless this was the case. an example is you are driving down the road and your transmission goes, not a repairable damage for the insurance company, it is considered maintenance.

I am sure that some others will be along shortly to further advise you, so hang out till you get further guidance.

Hi,

The car is not driveable.

This one sounds fishy!
If the parts had come up to this awful state, there had to be signs beforehand...which you say you didn't have. still, I'd prefer, if you'd look for causes towards its damage. It would be worthy of looking for the cause through the distance that it mostly covers everyday or even at places where it gets stored for a longer duration. Look for it even at your home might be you'd come across a real catalyst!

Hi, I'd like to know a few good questions like -
# When did you last take it for a check ?
# Do you remember allowing any other person to drive it before you took it up this time!
# Did you ever fix it up with cheaper auto body parts recently?

You don't mention the year or the model so I can't really even guess at the part that is causing the problem...But as to the collision or comp claim..naaaaa, it's not sudden or accidental and very very doubtful they would buy that it is vandalism or attempted theft (this isn't what a theif does)...more than likley it is something in the column it's self, or the tilt mech. causing your trouble...clearly you need to get it to a shop to find out what the problem is...perhaps it won't be too expensive to repair...do let us know the outcome......

ps striking something in the road could not cause something like this without some severe exterior/undercarriage damage......
