Wow that is a good question. You may get some answers from the funeral home itself. Maybe in their years of business they have dealt with a similiar situation. If not maybe you could check with life insurance agencies around where he lived or ask a local one and they could advise you how to go about this matter. Good Luck

You might try the missing money thing after several years have passed, but I'm not sure its always going to be posted there. If you can't find any paperwork you may be out of luck.

Hopefully you can find it and get the help you may need from it. So, just keep looking and good luck!

How about asking the other family members? Is your mother still alive? Can she help in this regards? You may also like to contact the executor of your fathers property or his agent.

Some ideas.......

If he had a Policy likely someone made payments. Look through his Check book and Bank Statements for any and all insurance payments.

Maybe he has the Life policy with the same company as is Auto & Home insurance. Talk to his agent.

Did he have a "Best Friend" that he may have confided in??

Was he employed? Could have been a Company plan.

Sometimes Banks offer policies as perks. Check with his banker(s).

Good morning everyone,
Just in case any of you are ever asked this question again, know that www.mib.com is the most accurate and comprehensive policy search engine available. I think the fee for consumers is around $75 and you'll need a death certificate and proof of insurable interest.

You can also contact my friend, Paul Archibald, the Lost Life Insurance Finder Expert. This service is usually a little more expensive, but there is no one better at finding lost policies.

Thats a website I will keep in mind. Until you hear of someone else having this kind of problem you never think it will effect you. It could very well happen to anyone of us. My family is really close knitted and keep copies of each others wills and policies just in case we would ever need these documents.

In fairness...I always advise consumers to NEVER pay for that type of service. By using some of the suggested ideas and other sources, you will likely find out what you need to know.

No offense intended Invest...but it's just a general rule many people have used in my 27 years in the business.

Ohio,
I've been investigating this sort of thing for almost 15 years. If there is a better policy locator method or service (with little or no work on my part) please, please, please let me know what it is. I run into several of these cases each month and I'd love to try your system .
Thanks

Ithink if you have no other options you may just have to go that way. I mean what other choice does a person have? Usually with life insurance you are asked to name a beneficary (sp?). I'm wondering if there was a policy did someone else get that money and never mention it?
