You explained it fine. I definately agree with you about parents trying to be the teens friend. They need to relize that teenager needs a guidance person not another friend. Yes its great to get along with your teen but this is the time when the need to be shaped into a person who can survive and thrive on their own. Parents signed on for that job when the decided to parent a child. I tell my kids the more you scream like a baby the more I am not going to give in. My boy is on his own , now I have an 11 year old girl to go. Hoping...praying...my guidance helps her through life.
