|
|
Hello Group, I was wondering about how people go about finding out options for insurance. ... and is there any websites that compares and rates plans and agents/providers while giving plan costs?
Something like this would be my dream come true. _________________ Insurance Postcards from PostcardPros - low cost printing and direct mail. |

I guess interactive communities like this one would be a good option for you. It would be easier if you'd give us a clue as to which place you're currently in. We might get a chance to count on the leading insurance carriers at your place. You might come across instances like this one too. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

You'll get a lot of the information you're looking for from a licensed, independent insurance agent. But doing it yourself just to get an idea... I'd recommend getting a bigger picture than just price and coverage.
Cheap insurance rates are cheap for a reason. It could be a limitation of the coverage, or it could be that the coverage is great. If it's the latter, you have to ask yourself, "Why is the coverage great while the price is so low?" That's where you turn to insurance ratings (AMBest, Moody's, etc) and consumer reports to make sure you know what the general public is experiencing.
The www at the bottom of this post takes you to a website called Insurance Scam, that covers the consumer side of insurance and has links to other resources as well. You can also go to your state's department of insurance (on the ISN Resources page) to review state-specific information.
All in all, you will want to speak with an independent insurance agent (or broker, if you're in one of the states that make the distinction) and get his/her insights into the industry.
Best of luck, and good hunting! |
