I recently was an an auto accident, where the other driver was at fault,I have a lawyer and im done seeing my doctor for therapy. They told me that last week they submitted my claim to her insurance company last week. How long(im in maryland) do you think it will take for them to take liability, for my car,and I also need a rental now

You don't mention when the accident happened! This would be a key part of the question. You mention that you are don't seeking treatment so I'm guessing it's been awhile. The other carrier should start their liability investigation from day one. They don't need to wait for anything. Also, the damages to your vehicle can be settled without settling your injury claim. Nothing has been done on your vehicle since the accident and you've not asked for a rental since then? Have you spoken with the adjuster about the damages to your vehicle and getting a rental? If not, you need to call and ask about it. Attorneys don't make money off of property damage so you will need to address this aspect of the claim.

The accident happened febuary 23.I am already dont with treatment. I thought that my lawyer was handling the claim,I didnt contact her insurance company about anything. Should I?
They havent came to look at my car,nor have they given me a rental. They are trying to say they arent accepting liability(WELL THATS WHAT MY LAWYER SAID). However, she ran a red light I had the green light and she hit me. She claims that its because ambulance was behind her and she didnt have a choice. I dont know what to do because its been a month now ,and I still dont know whats going on. The bad thing about this is that I didnt have coverage ,So im depending on her insurance company to pick up the pieces. Am I wrong?

Wow I can't see how the cannot accept liability here. I mean she did hit you. I wouldn't contact them yourself over the injury claim...let your lawyer do that so you don't jepardize your case. Probaly would be best if you asked your lawyer if you can contact them concerning your vehicle..I'm thinking he may not want you to. I am awaiting Tscopes answer on this one. I wonder if it will fall back on the ambulance or if even they have to except liability. Surely someone except you should.

You are paying the lawyer to handle the claim...probably the injury portion but ask your attorney before you contact the adjuster....if your attorney said they are not accepting liablity then your attorney should be proving the negligence to the other carrier not you!

More than likley your attorney has received a denial letter already...did your attorney say this? Please talk with your attorney first and see if they are still going to represent you ....

You need to file this with your own carrier under your collision coverage to get your vehicle repaired...then your carrier will go after the 'at fault' carrier..

Hate to tell you but if there was an ambulance behind the other driver and they were getting out of that amb. way..and you proceeded into an intersection with an ambulance even close...more than likely you will bare atleast some of the liablity...

Hopefully tomorrow I will have some time to research Marylands negligence laws and see what they are for you.
