hi, i got in to accident about a month ago and it wasn't my fault. other car hit me on the side because he didn't stop at the stop sign. he hit me first and i also hit another car due to the first hit. i sent all the info and they figured out the cost of the damage on my car. but they are not sending the check to me. i keep calling them and they always saying it will be done next week. what can i do? i really need this check right away. ( i only have liability for my insurance, so i have to talk to them)

Call the adjuster's supervisor. If they don't return the call by the following day move up the ladder. Within a week you should be at the VP or there abouts. I'm betting you get an answer well before then.

Did he get the ticket?

You say you were not at-fault. Do you have any statement from the police acknowledging it that way?
will brb..

hey, at times insurance companies are not satisfied with the proceedings & conduct deeper investigations till they meet a claim. Such investigations may carry on for an indefinite period. You have to keep the pressure upon them, so that matter gets resolved in time. Do as tcope has suggested, but at the same time I'd love to know-

What information did you attach with your claim? Did they confirm the figure with explanations? (If you ask for an explanation of what basis they have arrived at that figr, probably the truth would come out..whether they have really arrived at any figr or if its still hanging). ...also, KING..you said you hit ANOTHER car, due to the FIRST one hitting you. What's going on with THAT situation? I understand this may NOT your fault, but,,,,I'm just wondering ( I don't know for sure..), is it possible that things are delayed because of 'mishap' with the car you DID hit? In ANY kind of accident, EVERYONE involved has to give Insurance info, etc. and Insurance claims may get 'tangled up' with each other. Just wondering if this is the case.

King what (if any) is the 'reason' for the delay in getting the draft out to you? I'm with tcope call them again, if their voice mail picks up hit ''zero'' should roll to another adjuster ask to speak to your adjusters supervisor...now if they haven't completed their investigation and determined liability....different story, but that isn't what it sounds like in your case...

Will the OP be held liable for the damage to the car she hit or the person who hit the OP and started the chain of events be held liable for the whole kit and kaboodle?
