Is the "blue card" a driver exchange form from the police? One way or another, you need to contact the other person's carrier and file a claim. About the only state where this would change slightly is if the accident happen in MI.

It would not matter if the accident happen on private property.... a civil offense is still the same.

A claim filed on private property is handled the same way as anywhere else.

Generally, the only difference between having an accident on public or private property, is if the police will ticket someone or not. Police, generally, will not ticket someone on private property.

Now, if the bluecard as mentioned above be provided by the police & if its not possible for the police to place a ticket on pvt. property, then I too would like to be sure that there are no further hassles for processing the insurance claim under such a circumstance.

Or in my area they will not even respond to the accident scene unless there are injuries... :(

If it was your fault in an accident, you can be "claimed" whatever that means. I'm assuming you meant "can someone collect a claim from me or my insurer if I hit them in a gas station parking lot?"

If you are under the opinion that private property (which the gas station is not) accidents cannot be considered "at-fault" you're mistaken. All accidents can be considered as such.

yes...if you read this thread...what some of us were saying is that in many jurisdictions the police will not respond to accidents on private property..this in no way obsolved you from liability.
