In Tennessee do I only have one year from the date of a car accident to claim injury? Who do I write to about an insurance company of the driver that hit me about them not taking responsibility for any of my medical bills other then the day of the accident and they claim there is no way I recieved any injury due to the low impact of the accident. I was indeed injured. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| From what I looked up you do only have 1 year to file a personal injury claim in your state. If you have doctor reports to forward to them this may help in getting them to recognize the injury is from the accident. Do you have any auto insurance of your own? Usually you have to use up what is on your own policy for medical, then your personal health care coverage kicks in once that is exhausted. The other drivers insurance usually takes care of paying your private health insurance back after you settle. This amount comes out of your overall settlement. If you have neither auto or your own health coverage I think you have to pay until that time. I'm not exact on this mind you. You live in a different state so the laws maybe different. Someone here can give you more specific advice if you hang in there. |

I don't know the statute of limitations in TN I'll try and look it up tomorrow for you...But want to ask you something you say.... | Quote: | | not taking responsibility for any of my medical bills other then the day of the accident | Does this mean that you have been paid something already? Please explain the full facts of the accident including the amount of damage to your vehicle and the other one, also your injury...and perhaps we can be of further assistance, also please explain in DETAIL how some insurance company said to you 'that you cannot be injured'...to answer your original question you can contact the TN dept of insurance. _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. Hi,
All states have statutory body which regulates the various insurance processes within a particular state. In some states it is known as the DOI ( deptt. of insurance), while some other state may call it the Div. of insurance or Office of insurance services and so on.
This is actually the knowledge bank of all data associated with the insurance companies as well as the information associated with claims handling processes. They are also into handling of complaints regarding claims processing. That is one good reason why you may write to them.
I'm attaching a form where you may forward your complaint for further processing (Remember to choose the option -Other party's insurance co.):
