ahhh kids,

Now his credit is shot becasue of credit cards so he would not be able to get another loan for an auto

I raised mine to think that credit cards are the work of the devil!  :) They are 26 and (nearly) 29 and still don't have any (thank God)

Yes, He had an older model car before. Then he bought his double cab truck and a mortgage from the bank.

Can he sell this truck and get another beater that he can carry only liablity on until he gets his finances cleared up? That sounds (to me) like the best solution.....

he has 3 years to go before 25 and I don't know if he can make it with his insurance rate that long.Guess I could pray for a miracle.

Well, if his credit is that bad and with his accident(s) ticket(s) 25 might not be too much of a help to him..You might check (top of this page) the credit/debt forums for help...There are many many free agencys that help people get out of debt, negotiate rates, and payments etc...to get him back where he needs to be prior than starting a family etc....

Would you consider putting a vehicle in your name and putting him on as a driver, is this possible. Or is there someone else in his household that could be the primary on the insurance and he could be on as a driver? Just trying to think of possiblities.

Would this be cheaper?Yes, it is possible maybe, the vehicle is a truck and the co signer on the mortgage is my husband. Im not sure if we can do this since my son's name is as owner . Wouldn't we have to transfer owner ship to my husband so he could have the policy in his name and our son as a driver on the policy?

I don't see why not, if your son wanted to use your car everyday if he did not have a vehicle, could you not think the same way, right, only the vehicle would be your husbands truck and your son is just driving it.

I am sure that Lori or tscope will come along shortly and let us know if this is possible. I would just think that if my sister did not have a car and she borrowed mine everyday to go to work, what would be illegal about that, as long as I pay my premium and the person who is driving it is a legal licensed driver right. Like I said though, let's see what these two have to say about this, they both work in the insurance arena so they will better be able to answer it, these are just my thoughts.
