I injured my shoulder in Feburary 2010 and had surgery in April 2010. I submitted my paperwork to AIG for payment because I am off work and they requested my complete file from my doctor and they still keep telling me my case is in review then they requested the same information again in June 2010 so how can I make them pay up now and quit giving me the run around HELP!!!!

Have you been documenting who you spoke with and when? When you sent the original paperwork to who and when? If so, refresh their memory. Ask them if they are going pay it (by this time they should already know) and when. If you are still not getting anywhere, you can always state you will get a lawyer (sometimes this does grease the wheels) or that you will be contacting your state's Department of Insurance.

Before spending any time or money on a lawyer, use the resources of your state's Dept of Insurance to prod AIG into speeding things up. They should have made a decision within a couple of weeks of your initial injury in February.

Yes, it might cause you to spend around 33% of the settlement amount towards your attorney fees. You'd better go through your state doi website regarding the details.

Whenever a claim goes for investigation it might take a longer time to get settled. Even under such circumstances, the insurer might inform the insured.
