| Tr-Care IS dental insurance. It 'works for me'.LOL I'm looking for good medical insurance, however. Something I can afford. Seems like whatever insurance it is, the premiums are just soaring. |

| Thanks for the info. I'll pass that info, to a friend of mine. She doesn't have Dental Insurance. Maybe she can look into this. |

Hi, can someone throw some light upon 'full coverage dental insurance'? does it mean that it'll cover all the expenses related to dental care? Also, does treatments for cosmetic reasons, like-teeth whitening covered under the dental plan?

There are just about as many different styles of dental insurance as there are health insurance plans.
Some of the important things to look for in dental insurance:
(1) Most dental insurance plans have an annual maximum ($1,000-$1,500). This means that if you go to the dentist for a check-up, complete series of x-rays, a cleaning, two fillings, and one bridge - you have more than likely exhausted your dental benefits for the whole year.
(2) Most dental plans pay 80% (after a deductible) on minor dental services, then only pay 50% on the major procedures (root canals, etc.)
(3) Some dental insurance plans provide benefits for orthodontics (braces), others do not provide any benefits.
(4) Most dental insurance plans have an approved network of dentists and you must go to these dentists to be covered.
(5) Most dental insurance plans have a "pre-existing" condition provision which excludes dental coverage for existing dental problems for a specified period of time (6 months, 1 year, etc.)
Just like health insurance, don't buy dental insurance based on price alone, check out the benefits. |

| And this has to do with dental insurance how? Insurance really is different from paln to plan. OUrs is through a place called Anthem dental and is much like Maze described in his first two listings. If your plan does fall under the $100-$1500 dollars yearly amount it is wise to have your dentist help you keep track especially if you are having a lot of work done in a calendar year. Checking with the receptionist after each visit will ensure you still have benefits remaining for the year. Also calendar years may be different from company to company. |
