Thanks for your warm welcome lori. But, why intimidated? More often than not, I get this expression from people when they learn that I'm doing maths. Is it that bad?
I've gone through you posts. They are excellent. I have never realized that one can explain a tough subject like insurance in such a lucid manner. You are truly an asset to ampminsure. Your posts were very informative and those have already helped ma a lot to clear up confusion on many things. Thanks to you.
I hope I will be able to learn a lot from experts like you.
No of course not, it's more like, WOW what guts and I could NEVER do that. Shoot I can't even spell ''KAL-CUE-LESS" ha ha

Thank you Rupert that is very sweet. The reason I've joined these types of forums is for that very reason, insurance and claims in particular are very frustrating, confusing and traumatic to the general public, my aim is to try and take even a little of the 'sting' away if I can, you made my day...

You will, there are many great contributors on this site, and most (like me) just want to help out one of our fellow humans if we can.
Welcome to the Community Robert I'm like Lori- intimated by anything concerning math!! That comes from a father who was a whiz in the insurance industry and a CPA!!
He would explain things over and over, then ask me if I got it- I didn't but after 4 times, I said yes!!
Youngest son is a whiz in math- sure couldn't help him with homework!!
We look forward to getting to know you here!! Karen
Thanks Lori and Karen, once again, for all your flattering. As the days go I am really getting more and more involved with this site. This is an awesome place. I am considering myself lucky for landing up here. It is possibly the perfect place for a novice like me. Thanks you all for you good comments and encouragements. Rupert
Hello everyone,
I'm going to take Lakemen's advice and introduce myself. My name is Mark and I am a Life Insurance Fraud Investigator based in CA. Although I have led (and contributed to) their investigations in the past, I am not part of the CA Dept of Ins or the CA AG's office.
After spending a number of years as a life insurance/securities rep., I was allowed into the closed-door meetings where agents were taught to churn policies, window signatures, and sell products with vanishing premiums. I disagreed with this and used my knowledge to protect those people (mostly seniors) who were being victimized by unscrupulous agents.
I still hold a CA insurance license and am a partner in a private investigations company. To date, my investigations have led to the permanent revocation of 13 agents' licenses and have led to fines in excess of $500 million. I have written a number of articles and advisories for regulatory agencies and hope to write a book someday.
I write 3 or 4 life insurance policies each year for my friends and clients and like several companies.
I will always make time to answer questions and help those who want to do the right thing.
Glad you posted a 'bio' for the others to see Mark, you have an impressive resume' you'll be a terrific asset to many posters especially re: life insurance. It's great to have you here! _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
