1. Who I am. Lori, live in the midwest, have been in the claims biz( property and casuality), 21 years, 18 or so as an adjuster.

2. Joining date in ampminsure. Sept 10, 2007

3. From where did I found the website? I am a supervisor on a few other sites, someone with the screen name 'sammy' posted to my message board asking if I would like to join the 'insurance community' thought I'd check it out.

4. Why I like this AmPmInsure. I enjoy the give and take.

5. How I contribute and what the help I got from the community. My aim/goal is to help folks thru the mud of insurance, most particularly the trauma associated with claims.

6. In a day how many times I visit the website. couple

7. Additional things about the site you can also add here. I would like to see some categories set up for specific question areas..ie 'questions regarding auto claims' questions regarding homeowners/life/health claims.

Thanks for your warm welcome lori. Embarassed But, why intimidated? More often than not, I get this expression from people when they learn that I'm doing maths. Is it that bad? Sad

I've gone through you posts. They are excellent. I have never realized that one can explain a tough subject like insurance in such a lucid manner. You are truly an asset to ampminsure. Your posts were very informative and those have already helped ma a lot to clear up confusion on many things. Thanks to you.

I hope I will be able to learn a lot from experts like you.

Thank you Rupert that is very sweet. The reason I've joined these types of forums is for that very reason, insurance and claims in particular are very frustrating, confusing and traumatic to the general public, my aim is to try and take even a little of the 'sting' away if I can, you made my day... Very Happy

You will, there are many great contributors on this site, and most (like me) just want to help out one of our fellow humans if we can.

Glad to have you here !

Welcome to the Community Robert Very Happy I'm like Lori- intimated by anything concerning math!! That comes from a father who was a whiz in the insurance industry and a CPA!!

He would explain things over and over, then ask me if I got it- I didn't but after 4 times, I said yes!!

Youngest son is a whiz in math- sure couldn't help him with homework!!

We look forward to getting to know you here!! Karen

Hello everyone,
I'm going to take Lakemen's advice and introduce myself. My name is Mark and I am a Life Insurance Fraud Investigator based in CA. Although I have led (and contributed to) their investigations in the past, I am not part of the CA Dept of Ins or the CA AG's office.
After spending a number of years as a life insurance/securities rep., I was allowed into the closed-door meetings where agents were taught to churn policies, window signatures, and sell products with vanishing premiums. I disagreed with this and used my knowledge to protect those people (mostly seniors) who were being victimized by unscrupulous agents.
I still hold a CA insurance license and am a partner in a private investigations company. To date, my investigations have led to the permanent revocation of 13 agents' licenses and have led to fines in excess of $500 million. I have written a number of articles and advisories for regulatory agencies and hope to write a book someday.
I write 3 or 4 life insurance policies each year for my friends and clients and like several companies.
I will always make time to answer questions and help those who want to do the right thing.
