It is a good place to come and get information on insurance, but it is also just a nice place to be period. I enjoy reading and seeing how everyone and everything is going. There are alot of good people here. Alot of different questions ask, you can learn so much here, even if you don't have the concerns that people are expressing, you may have just a little bit or information that will help out or bring out another point of discussion. I really like it here.
Mac from NC here, Just wanted to introduce myself.
I am an independent health, life, annuity, medicare and long term care insurance agent. I have been an agent for several years and have primarily focused on individual health. Last november I took a detour into the senior market with medicare advantage and medicare supplements.
I work for many carriers and try my best to get my clients lined up with the plans that best fit their needs. Sometimes this initially hurts my wallet but the referrals are the best free leads in the world.
Ive been reading posts here for awhile and enjoy the information I have gotten here. Really looking foward to becoming a writer for this community and hope I can help many.

Hi, my name is Adam, I'm currently licensed in Virginia as a P&C agent and I'm in the process of obtaining my P&C Consultants license. I'm not currently working for any agency or company. This is the secone time I've been licensed P&C, the first time was in 1996 and I left the industry after a few years due to red tape issues with the company I was working in. I'm looking forward to assisting where I can and learning things I don't know. If I may be of assistance let me know. Thanks.

“My name is Michael Thompson (just call me Michae) from Dallas, Texas. I got my GEN1 license in Feb having worked with a company selling Medicare Sub/LTC products. Prior to becoming an agent I worked in IT/Marketing/Sales for IT Server products (HP/Compaq/Dell), and got laid off .
Instead of getting another IT job with guaranteed salary, what do I do? I get an insurance license and shot myself in the foot with it financially, but that's okay, I'm going to finish what I started.
I have interviewed/consulted with a bunch of insurance companies, many of them tiring to recruit me, all claiming to offer the 'best product', NAA, PennLife, NYL, Allstate, Aflac, Aegon, etc... and all those others you never thought existed!; Same with multi appointment ‘Agencies'. I'm glad I did my homework on each organization.
I am independent now have had success working on health care cases for the Senior Market at a new office, and hope to expand my services into variable products in the future.
After sitting with a Top Agent and VP of a Life company, I decided to appoint with them, I'm my own boss; no cost to ‘run my business', excellent product, no quotas, nor questionable Marketing/Sales practices; no manager commission split/pyramid; no weekly ‘conference calls'(its optional); and most importantly, free food: D , that's the way I like it.”

I am insurance agent in Idaho. I have all lines insurance and my 6 and and 63. I own a P&C agency and then do life and health on the side. I am always looking for good agents in Idaho. THis is a great forum. glad I found it.
