I was offered a position with them, They work out of credit unions selling life insurance to the credit union members.
I was just wondering if they were a good Co. to get started with, last week I posted about what kind of job to get . And, after thinking about it for a while a salary is a nice thing when your getting started, |

| It seems that they have three types of services to offer, SEG Marketing, Promotional Marketing and CU performance review. However, I don't have a first hand experience with them. May be some other member can help with information. |

Check the company's background with the department of insurance. It'll give you a fair idea about the company's financial strength as well customer satisfaction. It seems that they are into business since 1973, but the name is quite new to me. Hence, it'd be wise to dig deep into their background before accepting the opportunity.
BTW, I really liked your avatar, Dufus |

PFP is a great small company to work for. It's not easy, but yes, you do get a base salary and yes, they do pick up the tab for licensing, which is very nice.
The main aspect of the job is standing in the lobby of the credit union. From there you greet each member as they enter the credit union. After they take care of their business with the tellers or the member service reps (or if they are stuck in a long line waiting for the tellers or the msr's), you approach them and start talking to them about life insurance, critical illness insurance and disability insurance. You just have to be quick because most people are either on their way to work or they are on their lunch break. A lot of information has to be conveyed in just a few moments.
The other aspect of the job is that you accompany the credit union's business development employees to SEGs (Select Employer Groups) when they have "sign-ups" at the employer locations. Your first responsibility at these sign-ups is to cross-sell the credit union's products and services then transition into an insurance sale. Again, this has to be done quickly because most people are either on their lunch break or they have snuck away from their desk and want to get back before their supervisor notices.
As stated, it's a good company to work for:
1) There are lots of monetary perks, if you can qualify for them. The one thing I don't like is that you are only guaranteed a commission if you reach your sales goal for the month. I was about $200 away one month and didn't make one red cent in commission.
2) The company is growing because there aren't any other companies who provide this type of service, so your job is secure as long as you are making your goals.
The bad thing is that it's got to be such a quick sale that sometimes it feels like when those rental car guys try to sell you the extra car insurance. If you can get over that, your employment at PFP Services will be great.
Good luck if you do decide to try to get a job with them. If you do and would like to talk, reply to this post with your email address and we'll talk. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

Hello There,
I found your email address on a blog post from a couple of months ago and decided to contact you with questions of my own about PFP. I live in NC and posted for a position with PFP yesterday; got a phone call from them today which turned into a phone screen. I was told a Regional Manager will contact me soon for interview. What should I expect during the interview process? Do you work for PFP? Do you know anyone who does? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

PFP is a pretty awesome company to work for I'm currently employed for them so I can tell you first hand.
base is 35k first year plus 4% if you meet your sales quota. 2% quota if you come right under the buzzer. you end up taking home and extra 2 weeks pay on a regular month.
I like the company- good benefits, good salary, and if you ever move out of state- you may be able to transfer your job there as well so there's the longevity aspect.
You need to be very outgoing and used to rejection. if people telling you 'no' gets you down and you take it personally, this job will crush you almost instaneously.
Also, free license!
Also, apart from your salary and commission, there are always other contests and incentives. if money motivates you, take the job! _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

For clarity, are you stating it's 4% of 35k per month in commission if you meet your monthly quota? Or do you mean 4% commission of the premium for each sale? Thanks and congrats on your satisfaction with them! _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

you get 4% of your quota. base quote is $20,833 in annualized premium. keep in mind you're selling very low policies. most of your clients will be customers who could not otherwise afford insurance due to income, health or otherwise. so, if you make you 21,000 quota you get about 850 dollars. I've done 50,000 before and you get an extra 2,200 by the time other incentives you hit along the way are done too. it's pretty awesome. but tedious, long, and gets boring. but I love it otherwise! good, easy money! _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

Im new with PFP and I am struggling with the approach to the members; just to get them to sit down and talk with me. Can you give me some advice? They are always in a rush or someone has already approached them. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |
