I was getting unemployment benefits from the state of California, now I am applying for disability.
My unemployment extension is about to be approved.
My doctor has approved my disability form DE-2501 for 3 months.
I was getting $423 a week for unemployment.
Will I get more now if I am approved for California (EDD)disability?
how can i figure this out?
thanks you. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

California EDD does not pay disability and unemployment at the same time. You cannot be disabled and actively looking for work simultaneously. If you've been unemployed and collecting benefits for more than a year, you are probably NOT going to qualify for a benefit from State Disability Insurance (SDI). _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. I dont want to collect both, I am now disabled.
I am not going to accept the extension.
But submit my EDD disability only.
So, I am now diagnosed as disabled, and wish to stop my unemployment benefits.
But wondering what I will receive, I think a little bit less as it is based on highest quarter earnings.
I found this chart online....(Disability Insurance (DI) and Paid Family Leave (PFL)
Weekly Benefit Amounts in Dollar Increments
(This chart reflects maxim)um weekly benefit amounts for claims)
But will I also be eligible for food stamps or Medicaid?

Food stamps and Medicaid are separate programs unrelated to SDI or UI, and administered at the county level. You will have to apply for those programs at your local county social services agency. Eligibility is based on a combination of factors including income and household size. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197.
