I would rather advise you not to get carried away by the endorsements. Often the promises that they made in their advertisements miss match with the reality. Therefore, don't jump into any conclusion before doing the necessary research on your part. Cheers!

One needs to keep few things in mind while choosing the health insurer (or any insurer)

  • Are they offering me the coverage thats relevant to me?

  • What does it cost?

  • What are the covered diseases?

  • Do I require any ad-on or rider to obtain the coverage?

  • What's its financial strength?

  • What's the claim payment history of the company?

Evaluating all these aspect before you decide upon the carrier.

Take care!!

Great advice Anida,
You may want to find out too if there are out of pocket expenses, such as copays for doctors and specialists, and if there is prescriptions and other commonly used perks available with the policy. You get what you pay for and nothing like finding out too late that something was not covered.

Well I checked out that link. It does not sound like the commercial at all. I heard no co pay for surgery. All I saw was a place to put in your info and get a quote. Maybe this is not the site. This sounded like an insurance company and this site looks like they are just a sponsor of several company and find the best one for you.

You really got take a serious look at this stuff before you commit, it is tough to find out to late like after a surgery and you have a huge bill to pay. End up layed up and in collections with a huge bill.

Thank you, goodnatured, for the words of appreciation. And you too have mentioned a very important point. Yeah, one should learn all the policy clauses thoroughly, to avoid misunderstandings later on. Often we miss out the small prints describing the details. Hope hummingbird would delve little more about the company before committing to it.

Take care!!

I think that you need to also have discussion with customers who have used the product too. I mean if you think about it, you would not buy a vehicle that is constantly under repair and has a poor reputation, so why not take this frame of mind when it comes to health care purchasing, it just makes sense.
