What do you guyz suggest LTC or disability? I'm confuse between two. Some have suggested that I might consider purchasing the LTC plan at the late age. However, my concern is if I become disable now how will I meet my expenses for the rest of my life time. Will the LTC plan cover me then?

Hey, I think both the policies are designed to cater special sets of needs.

The disability policy will compensate your loss of income if you become disable due to illness or injury, whereas the LTC is a specially crafted plan, which meets the typical needs of graying.

But, thanks for initiating this discussion. IMO its a very important issue. Hope the other members will also contribute to it.

Thanks for the answer, ridgesimons, but I guess I understand the distinction. What I specially want to know is, does the LTC plan cover the disability aspect as well or I've to purchase two different plans to cover the disability and Long term issues??

What about the LTD (long term disability) plan? Can you get it through your employer? You may wish to check out this option as well.
