How to stop a policy deducted through payroll deduction?

This is a MetLife policy through my daughters work place, Great Clips. She has health, dental and vision insurance through my work place as she is 24 years old and is covered until the age of 26. She told the agent this information. She also told the agent that she wanted NO insurance, everything the same as the year before. The agent had her sign the paper to waive the insurance (same as the years prior) and THEN the agent filled it out the paper work later and signed her up for disability, dental and vision. My daughter neither needs this nor wants this, nor can she afford to have that money taken out of her paychecks every 2 weeks. Is this fraud on the part of the agent? Is there any recourse? My daughter has contacted MetLife, they told her to contact her HR people. They have been of no help.

Simply start by call the bank with the checking account and putting a "stop payment" on the automatic withdraw. She could also attempt to file for fraud with the bank as she never authorized those charges. She can also file a complaint with the state Dept of Ins against the agent if she never signed anything to obtain those policies and instead someone forged her signature.

First I'd make sure what you stated is true.

My daughter has the paper work......she did sign the paper where the agent told her to waive the insurance. One paper has her handwriting, the other with the coverage is not her handwriting. It is not through her checking account, it is payroll deduction. What she wants is to be able to cancel the policy as she clearly stated she did not want coverage, the agent said okay, no problem and then added the coverage later. She said there were 4 girls in the room, the agent had them all sign the papers, then left to go to another shop. She 'forgot' her laptop and papers, came back to get them and was very disorganized. So what my daughter thinks happened is that the agent had no idea who was who and filled in the paper work as she 'remembered' which was incorrect. Another girl's coverage was wrong as well. So while it may not have been deliberate, it was clearly wrong and my daughter did not request nor does she want the coverage.

Have her HR dept stop payroll deductions as your HR dept has nothing to show that those deductions are valid. If they don't have anything signed to allow the deductions then she could ask HR to refund that money. I'm betting that they won't and instead will direct her some place else however if they don't have the proper documents from her authorizing the deduction then they could be held responsible. She may want to put the request for a refund in writing just to have it on record. I'd then have here file a complaint with the State dept of insurance. She may also want to contact that agents boss and see if they will get it corrected and issue a refund of those deductions. Again, I'd follow up that with the same request in writing.
