I'd say that they were dumb enough to commit something this stupid. Obviously the police was going to find out the truth sooner or later. This is not uncommon for people to scam the insurance company, but as it says “crime never pays” the truth is bound to surface.

The society in large suffers from this kind of activities since the increased cost of coverage falls on it. The innocent customers end up paying higher prices for such fraudsters.

I GOT ONE FOR THIS THREAD!! being in the military, I have heard of SOOO many 'Military wives' killing off their husbands, for the Life Insurance. I know this sounds Morbid, but, it's true. A few years ago, there was alot of 'Military news'.......as soon as Soldiers came back from Iraq, the Soldiers would have 'accidents' and are killed. 1)One Soldier was given some kind of poison in his food. The wive told the hospital that he just " couldn't breath and passed out." 2) Another Soldier was killed when his car (supposely) caught on fire. The wive, in THIS 'one', shot and killed the Soldier and dragged his body to his car...where ( you guessed it..) put gasoline all over the car and it caught on fire. I just can't 'fathom' why people do this. There has to be something wrong ( mentally..) with those who even THINK up these things.

My EX is just crazy!! He is NOT the Beneficiary ( thank god!!). I took him off a LONG time ago. My EX has an attitude that everyone, in this world 'owes' him. ..make sense? He's just a 'me,me,me' kind of person.

Well, its kinda hard to believe that an epidemic of murdering the military personnel are going on to collect on their insurance benefits. If such a thing is going on definitely it'd have come to the public already. the insurance companies aren't out their with dollars, they will do whatever in their control to minimize claim payments. They'll do proper investigation before handing out the benefits to these ‘disgusting little wives'.

I don't think I read 'epidemic' anywhere..where did you get that?....just a few occurances (3 I think)....

When I heard about 1 of these 'deaths', I was stationed at Ft. Bragg at the time. One of these 'deaths' happened to a Soldier, who was staioned at Ft. Bragg. Soldiers were coming home from the Persian Gulf (yep...I 'served' during that time..) and the story flew like wildfire across the base. In the papers, on the news, etc. A few more I read in the Army Times..when Soldiers were returning home from Iraq.

Life Insurance (..through the military..) is $450,000.00. This is '24/7'.....................covers you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I pay $27.00 per month.
