Hi, if I'd need to go abroad for some months, does it mean that I'd need to carry any extra health policy?

Hi,
If you're thinking about going for a trip abroad then you must need a good bit of planning beforehand. Health insurance should always be a part of your planning. I must tell you that it is truly hard to find health policies that you cover you for your long tours abroad. If you'd think of the managed care plans, then I may tell you that emergency care services would be provided to you under such plans irrespective of where the sufferings have originated. But when we talk about other associated health cares, I'm sure they are gonnabe restricted to the local care providers network. Hope it explains quite a bit of it. Thanks, ArindamSenIndies |

Hi there..if you'd gone for the HMOs..then I'm sure you're not gonna get anything if all you had falls within the regular check ups from providers who don't fall within your network. In contrast the PPOs would cover you for parts of such care. So, you know that its not gonnabe beneficial on most occasions.

My dear friend, as a matter of fact most of us won't be able to avail the benefits associated with anything like those National health care programs which are being offered across different countries in Europe. That's one reason why it becomes so important for us to check out the coverage options that we may have on our trip abroad. You should never forget to mention facts regarding the duration of your visit to your carrier as well as the places that would fall in your list of visits.
Thanks, ArindamSenIndies |

Guys,
I don't quite see travel insurance as a solution for all. I say this because travel insurance would only cover you to a certain extent. Again, the coverage that you'd get through travel insurance would only support you for about 6 months or so. In case you have plans to stay abroad for over 6 months you'd certainly be looking for any comprehensive health insurance. Once such type of coverage would be the expatriate health coverage. | Roddick makes a good point about figuring how long you will be gone. It will make a difference. |
