Guest,

Contact your agent first (or AFLAC customer service) to see if the policy has been cancelled yet. You need to find out if the cancellation is still not processed, or if it is just a timing overlap.

Sometimes if an electronic draft is already being processed when the cancellation is requested, it is too late to stop the draft. In that case, AFLAC should refund your payment. If it is not this, however, then customer service should be able to tell you the status.

Yeah, follow the suggestions given by Christy. The best and the proper way to cancel AFLAC insurance is by calling their customer service. I’ve hard that they are generally co-operative. Best of luck!

Thanks,

Hopefully you were able to receive a refund. If AFLAC was not cooperative, then you may follow these steps to get your money back quickly (how quickly depends on your bank).

EFT (Electronic Fund Transfers) and Automatic Drafts are only allowed as long as they are permitted by the account owner. If you have proof that you cancelled your policy, take it to your bank and ask to fill out an unauthorized debit affidavit. Make sure that they understand that it is not a fraudlent transaction, but rather you cancelled a service and they took it out anyway. As a precaution, they will also help you do a "stop payment" on the draft so that it can't happen next month.

If you need additional help, just ask!

I had AFLAC ( for Accidental Disibility Insurance) through a previous employer. Apparently.........AFLAC were taking DOUBLE payments from employee's bank accounts, each month, when it should have been only a SINGLE payment. Our employer 'dropped' AFLAC because of this reason. You've been given good advice, OP, about talking to your bank. I'm sure they will understand the situation.

CHRISTY P....have you contacted AFLAC about cancelling your policy? What about your bank..did they stop the draft from them? AFLAC is known to 'beat around the bush' with certain issues....they don't give straight answers sometimes. My experiences?..it was difficult to deal with them. Just 'stand your ground' with them....that's what I say.

Worksite policies like you bought from Aflac are fairly restrictive as to when you can "get out" of them. Commonly, you can only cancel coverage during an "open enrollment" period, and this should have been explained to you.

I hear about this constantly. There are certain plans that will let you out at anytime, and there's a possibility that you're in one of those. Contact your plan administrator at work or the Aflac sales rep (probably easier) and they should be able to provide you the proper info.

I'll even go a step further. If you can tell me what state you're in, there's a chance that I know someone from Aflac in your state. My company deals with Aflac all over the country, and I work personally with a number of their personnel that hold all sorts of positions within that company. I should be able to get you the right info. Message me or reply in this post and I'll see what I can do. Laughing

I can't believe that I just volunteered more of my time that I don't have in the first place... Rolling Eyes
